The brochure and poster for elemental architecture of MoMA
The Museum of Modern Art presents itself as "a place that fuels creativity, ignites minds, and provides inspiration, exhibiting the world's finest collection of modern and contemporary art." However, we need to pay attention the minimal and neglected designs found in MoMA such as the elevator buttons, tables and the hand dryers of the restrooms. Even though they are easily neglected as simple elemental facilities of MoMA, they compose much of the architecture in MoMA. My mission was to highlight the often-ignored elemets of MoMA as well-designed and valuable artistic displays. This was done to inspire audiences to enjoy the exhibited artworks of MoMA as well as the basic architecture and design of MoMA itself.
The Electronic Current exhibition was an installation that featured a dozen posters from MoMA's collection that were used to promote electricity in the early twentieth-century, which offered staggering possibilities for progress but was not universally welcomed. My poster design emphasized the modernistic and magnified electric lights that were installed in the exhibition, Electronic Currents, both graphically and creatively.
Elegance and Eccentricity
Since the feather tip has fallen out of style, some people has had spencerian typeface for general correspondence. We often seem to be far removed from the time when that ornamental penmanship, was commonplace for weddings, births, graduations, and anniversaries because of its decorative and symbolic characteristics. Its characteristics also satisfy the needs and protocols of all kinds of small and large businesses for their logo and trademark designs. Thus, I created this ornamentally curved and swirly motif for this poster with Rene Descartes’ famous quote, I think therefore I am. My design shows the elaborate and flourishing possibilities of this typeface as something that can be paired with such as intellectually stimulating notion.
3D TYPOGRAPHY DESIGN
Three English slangs towards females
These illustrate some common negative words often directed negatie words towards women through the three dimensional type design of the slang words; Bitch, Cunt, and Mami.
Impure Androgyny/ Scale of Justice
I symbolically expressed the equality of both genders through the lettering design of my body posture. The purpose was for people to question how they perceive the equality of both genders in our current society.
GASP, A CONFERENCE FOR SHOCK ART
Contemporary art has been easily commodified by turning it into something an audience wants to hear. If an artist only creates art to please the tastes of their audience, the value of the art suffers. By creating shock art, the artist avoids this trip, and provokes their audience to experience art in a way that challenges their notion of the value and purppose of art. My mission was to design business cards, stationary, posters and three different templetes of the website for the three day conference in order to provoke the audiences with the goal of giving them to have a better understanding of Shock Art.
